Now that you have already done your installation of Technorati and claim your blog(s) there as well as submit your blog(s) to Google, Yahoo and MSN as laid down in Chapter 5, the next best thing to do in to install google analytics to your blog(s). You may ask what Google Analytics is. Google Analytics will help you learn even more about where your visitors come from and how they interact with your blog(s) / website. It is a great tool to determine which online marketing strategies and initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with your blog(s) / website. It shows you the performance of the steps you take to promote your blog(s) / website. I have found it to be tremendously useful. I recommend you take the following steps below to get going -

1. Go to www.google.com/analytics/home

2. Next go to “Sign up now”

3. “Enter your current email address”, “choose a password”, “re-enter your password” and finally “Accept and create your account”

4. You will receive a message such as the one below in your email inbox. Please do as requested.

Email Verification In order to verify that the email address associated with your account is correct, we have sent an email message to francoyong@hotmail.com . To activate your Google account, please access your email and click on the link provided. Click here to continue.

5. You will receive in your email inbox a message that appeared like this -

Welcome to Google Accounts.  To activate your account and verify your e-mail address, please click on the following link:  http://www.google.com/accounts/VE?c=3551726713000692991&hl=en  If you have received this mail in error, you do not need to take any action to cancel the account. Now, having understood what Technorati is all about and does, please follow the steps below to “Ping” your blog(s).To come to this stage, it is assumed that you have completed the steps in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 in creating your blogs with Blogger and WordPress respectively. It is time that you go to finish the steps in this Chapter. It is the submission of your blog to a search engine. A must do is to submit your blog to Technorati.

After you have registered with your User Name and Password (remember your user name and password), you will need to login-in into the Home Page. Close to the bottom of the page, you will notice -

4 Sources Of Traffic That May Generate Money Online For YOU From Your BlogThink about this. In sales, it’s the number game. Likewise, making money online is the same. The money people see your blog, the chances of making money online is there.

The simple formula for making money online is: “great contents = traffic + conversion = money”

Simply put - Generate traffic with great content and that would equal coverstion into MONEY.

2. Buy search engine traffic. The words associated with this sort of traffic source include Google Adwords, Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Yahoo Directory Listing, advertising, etc.

My personal experience with Google Adwords (sponsored links) on my website selling teddy bears was an amazement to me. I can never imagine traffic coming to my website in the first couple of hours from all over the world!! A must try and certain, such advertising can deliver. And one can then understand why internet marketing really does have a level playing field with the world market, literally, at your feet.

3. Lean on network traffic. Networking is POWER!!. Get your strategic partner to support and write testimonials about your blog. This brings credibility to your blog.

4. Indirect / Referral Traffic. Here you build links where other blogs are linked back to your blog and promoting yours. Digg, SpicyPage, Mybloglog, del.icio.us, Technorati, FuelMyBlog, Blipoo, Myspace, Squidoo, Bumpzee are some of the sites worth consideration.

These traffic source is instant. Unlike SEO that needs weeks to pull visitors to your blog, Web 2.0 traffic is almost instantaneous. Referral traffic is absolutely free!! What else can one asks for?

In this Chapter 3, I am going to attempt to provide the step to set up a blog with WordPress. It is good to have an identical blog at WordPress with the one that you have already done so with Blogger. The reason is just to get more exposure for your blogger by attracting more traffic what would be useful when you start doing the things to begin earning money with your blogs.

Now, let’s begin.

Step 1. To to WordPress.

Step 2. Click on “Get a WordPress. Blog now >>”.

Step 3. You will now enter a page with the title “Get your own WordPress.com account in seconds“.

Step 4. Click “Register” located at the bottom of the page.

Step 5. Create your “Username“.

Step 6. Create your “Email Address“. Make sure you write your username and password something for future reference in case you have forgotten them.

Step 7. Check “I have read and agree to the fascinating terms of service“.

Step 8. Click “Gimme a blog! (Like username.wordpress.com)“.

Step 9. Complete your “Blog title“. Keep your blog title as interesting and broad as possible so that it is relevant to many people. This is important to generate traffic and money in the months ahead.

Step 10. Choose “Language“.

Step 11. Proceed to “Sign Up“. This page will appear.
